Our adult Ladies made the trip to Bishopstown yesterday evening for a crucial game in this years Division 3, Ladies Senior County League campaign.A win would see them straight through to the league final with a game to spare and not depending on other results to decide their fate.

With Bishopstown also pushing for a spot in the final both teams started cautiously and it was nine minutes before Bantry registered the first score of the game with a well taken Caitlin o Mahony point.Bishopstown responded in kind with two points but a fine goal from Emma Spillane gave Bantry a slight advantage after the first quarter.Both teams were trading scores but the Bantry forwards were more accurate in front of goal and with half backs Laura o Sullivan and Leah Barry chipping in with two great points, and the girls in Blue went in at half time leading on a scoreline of 1.8 to 0.5.

The second half proved to be a very tight affair with Bishopstown driving forward in search of scores putting the Bantry defence under serious pressure outscoring their opponents by four points to one in the first fifteen minutes.However as in previous games the Bantry defence coped admirably and they warmed to the task.Bantry's midfield was now beginning to dominate and two quickfire goals from Aoife Kingston in the 25th and 26th minutes effectively killed off this game as a contest and Bantry ran out winners with a final score of 3.12 to 0.9.

To single out any individuals from this game would be pointless as this was a superb performance from everyone one of the Bantry girls who took to the field.

Bantry now face Carrigaline next Saturday afternoon in the park for their final league group game but win,lose or draw after today's victory they have guaranteed their place in this years final.
