Our u16 lads made the journey to Aghinagh to play their league semi final this evening.

Bantry started brightly with two early points from Owen Crowley and a Tom o Donnell free but a brace of goals from Aghinagh put them firmly back into the game. The first half was well contested by both sides but Aghinagh held the advantage at the interval on a scoreline of 2.5 to 0.6.

Again our young Blues started the second half strongly.Paddy Russell now operating at midfield along with Timmy Mulhall were supplying good ball into the forwards and a fine Jack Manning goal followed up with a point and another Tom o Donnell free saw the sides level with 20 minutes to go.

After already losing Patrick Harrington, injuries forced Colin McCarthy and Tom Murphy out of the game and Aghinagh started to take control of this contest.Despite some good defending from Shay o Donovan and Oran o Connell ,Aghinagh scored three quickfire goals and from here on in Bantry were always chasing this game. Two late goals from Billy Sheehan and Timmy Mulhall were no more than Bantry deserved but it was Aghinagh who ran out comfortable winners on this occasion on a scoreline of 7.13 to 3.8.
