Our u16 lads kept up their impressive league campaign with a comprehensive victory over Kilmeen in Rossmore on Thursday evening. The game was played with 13 a side as Kilmeen were low on numbers but this seemed to suit Bantry as they maximised the space and were 1.2 to 0.1 up within 5 minutes courtesy of a Dan-Joe o Neill goal and points from Billy Sheehan and Paddy Russell.

The 2 man full back line of Shay o Donovan and Colin McCarthy were defending solidly and with the Bantry forwards continuing to impress our young Blues went in at half time ahead on a scoreline of 2.9 to 1.6.

The second half proved to be a one sided affair as Bantry completely dominated.Goalkeeper Luke o Sullivan was rock solid between the posts and with the half back line of Oran o Connell,Paddy Russell and Patryck Gacek snuffing out any Kilmeen offensive,Bantry really controlled proceedings.Goals from Billy Sheehan who was outstanding on the the night ,set up by the tireless Jack Manning and a fabulous team effort from a sweeping move out of the full back line culminating in a cracker from Tom o Donnell put this contest to bed. With Conor Young,Fionn Goggin and Colm French slotting in off the bench,Bantry were able to see out the game comfortably.

This was a wonderful team performance from all the lads who now head into a top of the table clash with Western Gaels next Sunday morning in the park at 11am
