Well done to our u16 ladies who put in a match winning performance when they hosted Courcey Rovers on Friday evening in Wolfe Tone Park. The visitors opened the scoring from the throw in with a well taken point. This spurred the blues into life and Lauren Connell scored 1-1 in the opening minutes. Bantry worked really hard to turn over the opposition kick outs and Caoimhe McCarthy scored a fine point off her left before Ava Clancy, Aoidhe Murphy and Nadia Ustjanowska all raised green flags. Ciara Kelly, Aoidhe , Nadia and Ava all added points before halftime also. In the second half Bantry were put under more pressure as Courceys scored two quick goals. Ciara scored a goal of her own and Aoidhe added a point which saw the girls take the victory. Ella Foley made a string of vital saves stopping certain goals to keep the opposition attack at bay. There was great defending throughout the game from all the backs with Emma Barry, Lucy Harrington, Belle O’Donoghue and Keelyn O’Connor turning over vital possession. Sara Murphy and Caoimhe McCarthy formed a strong partnership at midfield making tireless runs to link the play from defence to attack. Well done to the full panel with all girls getting plenty of game time. 💙🤍
