Our u16 boys got 2023 Rebel Óg West league campaign off to a flying start with a comprehensive win over Tadhg na Gaels in the park this morning. ( Tadhg Na Gaels is an amalgamation of Clann Na Gael & Tadgh McCarthaigh )

Playing some free flowing football the boys in blue got off to a great start with midfielder Tom Murphy notching 1.1 inside 10 mins. With the Bantry forwards impressing they finished the first half on a high with a bullet of a goal from Timmy Mulhall to lead on a scoreline of 4.4 to 2.4.

Tadhg na Gaels started the second half strongly but with the Bantry backs being marshalled superbly by centre back Paddy Russell scores were not easy to come by.

The Bantry forwards continued to thrive with the lively Dan-Joe o Neill a constant threat. With Jack Manning looking dangerous and two brilliantly taken goals from Ryan O’Boy, Bantry were firmly in control and with Billy Sheehan and Tom O’Donnell chipping in with some well taken points our boys were in control .

With Tom Murphy now operating at full back and Oran O’Connell making a serious impact off the bench at wing back Bantry completely shut down the opposition. With Darragh Dullea lording it at midfield our boys saw out the game comfortably on a scoreline of 6.10 to 2.5.
