Season opener for our Senior footballers took place on Sunday morning last in the Cork Credit Unions Cork Senior Co League, The Blues hosted Newmarket in Wolfe Tone Park on a beautiful spring morning. The opening half was a very closely contested affair with the visitors going to the break with a 2 point advantage 0:06 V 1:05 . The second half was again very close and the Blues best chance at goal came from a rattling shot from Dara McCarthy, which hit the underside of the crossbar & bounced just outside the goal line. This was a very good performance for the blues on their first day out with two young players making their Senior football league debuts , Mark Óg O’Sullivan & Jack Sheedy. The game ended with a win for the visitors on a full time score of 0-10 V 1-09

Next up for the Blues is Uibh Laoire away on the 12th March
