Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai make huge step forward in Simcox County A Football championship. They emerged victorious over a very strong Chriost Ri team played in tough conditions in Newcestown. Criost Ri started the better taking the opening 3 points in the first 10 minutes. After this however CPB settled and started to gain a foothold on the game with CPB leading at half time 1-6 to 1-4. A fantastic worked goal by CPB finished by Paddy Cronin the highlight of the half. Criost Ri came out the second half with a point to prove and with 3 minutes to go led by a point. CPB dug deep and Callum McElhinny levelled proceedings with a fantastic individual effort making it all to play for with a minute to go. Another fantastic move opened up Dara Sheedy to fist over and Paddy Cronin to make sure of the result with a free to win the game on a score of 2-9 to 1-14.
This was CPB’s first ever outing in the simcox county A championship. They now advance on to the quarter finals. ( Thanks to CPB for reporting)
