Our Junior Ladies made the short trip to Aughaville yesterday evening to face Tadhg MaCarthaigh in their Division 2 West Cork semi final.
In what turned out to be a fantastic game it was the Caheragh Ladies who emerged victorious by the slenderest of margins. Bantry opened the scoring with two quick fire points inside the first three minutes with Caheragh leveling matters on six minutes.
This was to to be the pattern of the first half as both teams traded scores in a very competitive game with Caheragh going in at half time leading on a scoreline of 0.8 to 0.6.
The second half of this game proved to be just as tight with Caheragh opening the scoring with a point inside two minutes. Again Bantry replied with three unanswered points and when they goaled on forty minutes this game was level and up for grabs.
Both teams were putting in a serious effort but a Caheragh goal on fifty five minutes saw them take a one point lead into the closing five minutes.
Again both teams traded points with Bantry pushing fiercely for the equaliser but Caheragh were able to hold on to take the spoils on a scoreline of 1.11 to 1.10.
Hard luck but well done to the girls on a great game.
