Secretary’s Report 2025 – Bantry Blues GAA 21st Nov 225
Good evening everyone, and thank you for attending this year’s AGM. It is my privilege to present the 2025 Secretary’s Report, reflecting on another year of commitment, progress and community spirit within Bantry Blues GAA. As Secretary, my role is to keep the club’s administrative wheels turning smoothly—either by doing the jobs myself or by very skilfully delegating someone else to do them.. This year has once again highlighted the importance of teamwork—not only on the pitch but among the many volunteers who give so generously of their time.

The club committee met regularly throughout the year to oversee operations, respond to issues, and guide developments. Significant work was completed in the areas of governance and continued progress on the review of the club constitution and trustee ownership structures along with completion of a Club Asset Register. These steps are essential to ensuring we remain fully aligned with GAA standards and best practice.

At this point, it is important to acknowledge the contribution of so many individuals. I wish to express sincere thanks to our Chair, Arthur Coakley, Vice Chair Kevin Healy, PRO Shirley Murphy, Registrar Jerry Sheehan, Treasurer Deirdre Daly, Injuries Officer Caroline OConnell , Childrens Officer Claire Russell and all fellow committee and sub-committee members. Their energy, advice and dedication underpin everything we achieve. As always, if anyone—new or returning—is interested in becoming involved at any level, we warmly welcome fresh ideas and new hands.

As the detailed team reports have been submitted in advance of the AGM, I will not revisit each group individually. While our Premier Intermediate campaign fell short of the heights reached in previous seasons, the commitment of players and mentors cannot be overstated. Across all grades, codes and age groups, our teams represented Bantry Blues with pride, and I thank every coach, mentor, volunteer and supporter who contributed to their preparation and enjoyment throughout the year.

I also wish to acknowledge the conclusion of Arthur Coakley’s three-year term as Club Chair. Arthur has provided steady leadership and has been instrumental in advancing discussions and planning for future developments at Wolfe Tone Park. His work leaves a strong legacy for the incoming chairperson and the club as a whole.

This year saw continued progress in facilities development and pitch maintenance, with projects that require vision, patience and resilience—work that will benefit generations of players to come. The Club Development Committee, led by Flor Murphy and Philly Spillane, worked tirelessly on the floodlight project, which we hope to see completed in the spring. They have also advanced the acquisition of the playground and  discussions have taken part on the possible installation of a telecoms mast, which could provide significant fundraising income for the club in 2025. The committee will outline the full details shortly, but on behalf of the club I extend deep appreciation for their persistence and hard work.

Our Healthy Club Committee also deserves significant recognition for another year of meaningful initiatives. From Ball4All and Darkness Into Light to the hosting of various wellbeing workshops, their work continues to bring real value to our members and the wider community. A particular highlight was the launch of the Sensory Garden in July, an event honoured by the presence of GAA President Jarlath Burns. Special thanks are owed to Mark O’Donovan, whose dedication ensured the project reached completion, and to all volunteers who contributed hours of labour to make it a success.

Our sponsors once again played a pivotal role in supporting the club. We extend heartfelt thanks for their loyalty and generosity, which directly enables the day-to-day running of our teams, facilities and activities. Fundraising remains essential for the club’s sustainability, and this year saw continued support for the Club Lotto, Rebels Bounty, the GAA Golf Classic, and the second year of the Rising Tide Festival, among various other events. We are acutely aware of rising operational costs and must remain proactive in generating income. Any new ideas or offers of assistance in fundraising are always welcome and appreciated.

As we look back, it is also appropriate to remember former members, supporters and friends of Bantry Blues who passed away during the year. Their contribution to the club, in ways large and small, leaves a lasting mark. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha.

Before closing, I would like to express our sincere thanks to several outgoing officers: our hardworking Chair Arthur Coakley, Treasurer Deirdre Daly, Healthy Club Chair Mark O’Donovan, and Club Lotto coordinator Conor Cronin. Their dedication has strengthened the club and their contributions will be felt long after their terms conclude.

Looking ahead, 2025 promises to be a significant year. Bantry Blues will progress with the proposed “One Club” model, integrating the operations, structures and cultures of both the GAA and LGFA under a unified framework. This step is a natural progression for our club—reflecting our shared values, collective ambition, and commitment to ensuring that every player, coach and volunteer feels part of one community.

In closing, I extend my thanks to Patjoe Connolly for for his continued assistance and to every member, volunteer, player, coach, supporter and sponsor who has played a part in another memorable year. The strength of Bantry Blues does not lie in any one team or individual but in the combined efforts of all who contribute to the club’s success.

Ní neart go cur le chéile—there is no strength without unity.

 |  Bantry Blues Premier Intermediate football report 2025 We met as a squad on the 19th of January and started training on the 21st, from there we had 81 training sessions and 17 games. In my opinion coordinating the activities of our adult teams should be a role carried out by a member of the club committee, especially as the numbers have and will continue to grow in the coming years. League preparation was hindered by the absence of a pre-season strength and conditioning block, requiring much of that work to be completed alongside pitch sessions. Injuries carried over from the previous season further limited readiness. Initial league results were unsatisfactory; however, following a terrible away fixture against Buttevant, our setup undertook a comprehensive review which included restructuring the management team, implementing a revised kick-out strategy, and holding a team meeting to discuss. This led to a strong win against Bandon and some subsequent successes against Nemo & St Vincents, though relegation followed due to the slow start. Nutrition Workshop with Shirley Beattie In March we welcomed Shirley Beattie, who delivered an excellent Nutrition Workshop to our adult players. The session focused on: · Proper nutrition around training and games · Recovery strategies to aid performance and reduce injury risk Players found the workshop extremely beneficial, gaining practical insights into fuelling, recovery, and maintaining energy levels across the season. Ongoing Support from Lucy Coakley Following Shirley’s workshop, Lucy Coakley provided continued support through: · One-on-one consultations with players · Tailored nutritional advice to meet individual needs · Advice on team recovery snacks after training and games. Lucy’s input has been a brilliant resource for the club. We extend our sincere thanks for the time and effort she has dedicated. Sports Psychology Input from Chloe Barry We also benefitted from the expertise of Chloe Barry, a newly qualified sports psychologist. Her contributions included: · Developing questionnaires to understand player motivations · Delivering a workshop on team morale and goal setting · Introducing strategies to help players reset quickly during games Chloe’s work was extremely well received, starting the journey to equip the squad with tools to build resilience, focus, and collective spirit. Acknowledgement Our management team wish to express huge gratitude to Lucy and Chloe for their outstanding contributions. These resources are invaluable, and we hope future management teams continue to make use of their expertise. Their combined efforts help achieve the “1% gains” that make a real difference to player performance and overall player and team development. Preparing for Championship The period between league and championship was dominated by injury management. While rehabilitation allowed players to return to the pitch, it came at the expense of conditioning, leaving some senior players underprepared for the championship’s start. This block required careful balancing of recovery with maintaining fitness, which was challenging. Championship The championship campaign started ok, with a strong second half against Aghabullogue, however the defensive lapses against Aghada proved very costly. The team performance improved against Nemo, especially with the influence of key players and a strong bench, highlighting the importance of developing a deep panel. Though results were disappointing, the lessons on defensive resilience, panel depth, and maintaining intensity provide a roadmap for next season. On review of the season, management emphasised that winning a county requires early commitment, sacrifice, and honesty. Players must reflect on past effort and adopt realistic targets. Building a strong panel culture, encouraging intensity as individuals and from teammates, and correctly managing players return from injury are crucial. Accountability is shared between management and players, and the foundation of honesty, teamwork, and high standards will help underpin success in 2026. Whilst we are far from happy with the results from 2025, the outcome does not reflect the effort made by players and mentors alike, we hope that the introduction of good nutrition, sports psychology, improving on analysis will all help the players in the long run, also the introduction of a leadership group and a player rep are steps in the right direction for the future. Thanks to Colm O’Driscoll, Pat Joe Connolly, Stephen Dineen, Mike Lynch, Ger O’Brien, Joe Downey, Des McAuley, Shay O’Donovan, Cathal McCarthy and Barry O’Shea for their help during the season, the amount of enthusiasm and willingness to work that went on behind the scenes was great to see. Thanks to the pitch committee for the upkeep of the facilities and pitch lining, and thanks also to Eddie Wiseman, Shirley Murphy and Philly for their help during the season. A final word of thanks for our sponsors The Maritime hotel for their continued support of our Club, and to Paco for the plentiful sandwiches on Tuesday evenings. Wishing the players and management all the very best for 2026 and beyond. Regards, Mark O’Donovan

Notes on the season On Behalf of the management we would like to thank the players for their efforts during the year they showed great enthusiasm and some good team work , by the end of the year we felt that there was a good core group that really wanted to play for the club junior jersey and hopefully they will carry this into next year .  Recommendations for next year would be that the Junior team would be able to get their own training night if the schedule allows and also maybe train with the 2026 18 year olds every second week to hopefully encourage more younger players to buy into the junior jersey and see it as part of their development into adult football .

 |   |                       U21 Report  Our season started in early December when we started training on the astro. Championship starting in early February. We played 2 challenge games v Goleen Junior team and Clondrohid prior to championship . 1st  Rd v Carbery Rangers.   A good win over Carbery. Started well and had a good lead early in 2nd half. Allowed them back into the  game but pulled away in the end. Weather interrupted the championship and all games were postponed  and rescheduled mid August. Semi Final v Castlehaven. This was played in Aughaville. A great game of football where the lads showed  unbelievable heart and skill to progress. Final v Ibane Gaels The final was played in Dunmanway under lights. Perfect conditions. Stated really well , played some  good football. Had a 4 point lead heading into the 2nd half. Should have push on more but momentum  went against us completely especially with the new rules and 2 pointers. Struggled to get back into the  game and didn't take our chances when presented.  Over all, disappointing year as our goal was to win another West Cork and more. Positives can of course  be taken out of the year for example beating 2 senior clubs on the way to the final. This will stand to the  lads in the years to come. Also it should be noted that the present structure of the U21 Championship during the summer should  be kept and hopefully the Carbery Board will keep it this way. On behalf of the management we would like to thank the club for their help during the season. It has been a pleasure to manage the U21s for the last 3 years. I believe the future is bright for lads  going forward. It's important now that they push on into Adult football within the club be it Junior or Intermediate. Best of luck to the new management coming in this year coming.  Ivan Kingston

 |  2025 was another busy year for the Juvenile club. The year began where we were approached by Glengarriff GAA with a proposal for their players from under 13 to Under 18 to come to Bantry under the permission to play rule. Thanks to Terence O’Shes, Martin O’Sullivan, Diarmuid Collins, Danny Murray and Michael O’Sullivan for ensuring this was a success.  The club fielded teams from our Skils4Kids group all the way up to under 18. Once again we have the honour of having a county final win again in 2025 with the success of our under 14 footballers in winning the Division 1 county football championship. There is undoubted potential in this group that needs to be harnessed over the next number of years to ensure we bring as many through to adult leavel At minor level we moved up a grade to Division 1 this year and performed excellently throughout the league and won the final following a hard fought game against Naomh Aban. The championship that followed was one of the most competitive seen in West Cork in many a year which was evidenced by the fact that after 2 rounds all 6 teams had one win and one defeat. While we can have no complaints with our defeats against Newcestown and Castlehaven, it was a real case of what might have been following the final round defeat to Naomh Aban. From been in pole position to make the final with 5 minutes to go at the end of the night we finished 5th in the group. A number of these players are now finished with the juvenile club and again we would stress the importance of bringing these players through at under 21, junior and intermediate.  level. The vast majority of the square are minor again in 2026 the hope is to play at the Premier 2 grade Our under 16 footballers may not have may any league or championship finals however that does not do justice to the improvement shown by this team throughout the year. At the outset of the season due to low playing numbers and poor performances at under 14 level 2 years previously, serious consideration was given to applying to play in Division 3. The team were subsequently graded in Division 2 and acquitted themselves admirably by securing playoff spots in both league and championship. A number of this side also may the jump up and played at minor level this year. Our under 12 group also showed a great improvement throughout the year and this year we fielded 2 under 12 teams with our second under 12 team qualifying for a league final where they met a stronger Valley Rovers side. We continue to field teams from under 8 to under 11 in gogames  Hurling The promotion of hurling continues to be a huge challenge for the juvenile club due to a lack of mentors to help out with various teams. However, when it comes to Cork playing in a Munster or All Ireland hurling final the demand for tickets goes through the roof. In spite of this we still fielded teams at under 8, under 10, 12 and 14. The performances of our under 12 teams would show there is much work to be done. The under 14 boys were graded at Division 2 this year and did not have the numbers to compete in 15 a side At under 16 and 18 level we formed an independent team with St Colums and competed well at both grades and won the league at under 16 level following a great win in the final against Passage West. Unfortunately, in the championship final Passage gamed their revenge and reversed the result to take championship honours. At minor level while the team was very competitive we found it difficult to get a set training night as both clubs minor football teams trained on different nights. Thanks to Jimmy O’Sullivan, Anthony Murnane and Michael O’Sullivan who ensured the smooth running of Cill Mochomog Lastly, it is very disappointing to see that the report produced by the hurling subcommittee has not been discussed at one committee meeting since its submission.  I will like to take the opportunity to thank our secretary Michael, assistant secretary Caroline, coaching officer Danny and our PRO Kagan. Thanks especially to our sponsors, Bantry Credit Union, The Westlodge Hotel and O’Keeffe’s SuperValu. I would also like to thank the following who purchased footballs for the club during the year, Glengarriff GAA, The Quays Bar, Sola Boutique and Michael and Amanda O’Sullivan. These were very much appreciated as at the time the club were not in a position into source any match balls for our under 12 and 14 sides.  Thanks also to those who sponsored pizzas for the under 14 footballers after their West Cork Final win, Patrick Courtney, Tim Whooley and Marie Cronin.  Thanks to Mike Russell and all in the Ladies football club for their support throughout the year and to all the adult club committee members.  Thanks to Rebel Og who again this year were very efficient with their masters fixture calendar. Thanks to all the referees. While, we may not always agree with their decisions and like us all they will make mistakes, however,  if we as a club are going to go down the road of highlighting one error here and there without looking at ourselves first then we will be on the road to ruin.   Most importantly, thanks to all the coaches who helped out with the various teams throughout the year. The time you all give up to the various teams is hugely appreciated and should never be underestimated or taken for granted.

 |  Bantry Blues Ladies Football Club Report 2025. 2025 has been a year of mixed fortunes on the field of play for the various teams in the Ladies Club. Again tremendous work has been put in at underage level this year and great credit must go to our fantastic coaches and mentors who are doing a wonderful job in developing our young players. Our u8 and u10 Girls took part in various blitz's,Go Games and challenge games throughout the year and they all enjoyed their football and put in some great performances. Our u10 girls put on a great display of football to win the Eilish Collins memorial blitz in Castlehaven in September.Well done to them and their coaches. Our u12 Girls played in a number of Go-Games and challenge games and gave a great account of themselves.Again there was no competitive football at u12 level this year but the girls were competitive in all their games and hopefully this will have helped them prepare for next seasons league and County competitions. Our u13 girls had a fantastic season. They had a great win against Valley Rovers in the West Cork final in Rosscarbery on May 8th and after a fantastic County Championship campaign they qualified for the County final where they again faced Valley Rovers on August 16th in Rosscarbery. The girls played brilliantly and came away with the win to complete the double.Again well done to the girls and their coaches. Our u14 girls also had a great year. After a strong campaign they qualified for a West Cork final against Rosscarbery on August 11th and came away with a great win on the night. They then went on to the County Championship where again they qualified for the final and had a fine win over a strong Midleton side in Pairc ui Chaoimh on September 28th to complete a fantastic double. Well done to the girls and their coaches. No joy unfortunately for our u16 and Minor ladies in their respective league and Championship campaigns but they put in some great performances throughout the season and again some great work is being put in with these age groups which will no doubt stand to the girls going forward. Our Junior Ladies also had a very good season, reaching both league and County Championship finals. After a terrific league campaign they qualified for the Div.2  County league final away against a very strong Carrigaline side on July 4th.After a fiercely competitive game Carrigaline emerged victorious with a two point win. A highly competitive County Championship campaign saw our Ladies qualify for a County final against Dohenys on October 4th in Aughaville.Unfortunately Dohenys proved to be too strong for us on the day.Although the result was disappointing, reaching both league and Championship finals was a great achievement for this group of players. Again well done to everyone involved. We also entered a second Junior ladies team into competition this year. Our aim was to give our younger players some experience playing at Adult level and also to give everyone of our Junior players as much game time as possible. This turned out to be a very enjoyable campaign for everyone involved and the blend of youth and experience saw our Junior 2 ladies qualify for a County league final against St.Finbarrs at home on July 22nd.After a great performance the girls came away with a fantastic win on the night. Well done to everyone involved. This year also saw our Gaelic4Mothers&Others team continuing to take to the field and again this has proved to be a very enjoyable endeavour and was a great success with the participants playing against various local teams in a non competitive environment and friendly atmosphere.A special thanks to Anne o Grady for taking on these ladies again this year in what was a very enjoyable season for everyone involved. Again I want to thank all our coaches/mentors from u8 all the way up to Adult level for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Again it was great to see good representation from our club at divisional level.Well done to Layla Rose Kingston Fitzgerald,Kate Creedon,Callie o Donoghue and Fia Russell who were part of the u13 West Cork squad this year. I would like to thank everyone who helped out with our fundraising activities throughout the year. Again we held two very successful Peil Camps in 2025. Both Easter and Summer Peil Camps were very well attended and it was great to see young boys and girls from the club volunteering and helping make both Camps very enjoyable for the kids that took part. A huge thanks to Bantry Credit Union who again sponsored gear for the summer camp and who also organised an ice cream van on one of the days which went down a treat with the kids. We recently had our annual Ladies Club flag day and we raised a fantastic €1598 on the day and again I would like to thank everyone who helped out with that. I want to thank Conor Cronin and Michael o Sullivan from the Juvenile club for all their help and cooperation throughout the year. Thanks to our coaching officer Danny Murray for organising the Foundation level Coaching course and to Ivan Kingston for running it. I would also like to thank Arthur Coakley,Eddie Wiseman, Pat Joe Connolly,Flor Murphy,Jerry Sheehan and Philly Spillane for all their help during the year.A special thanks to Shirley Murphy for putting up the various reports and pictures of games and events etc on the club app throughout the year which was a great help in promoting ladies football in our community. There is a great relationship between the main club and the ladies club in Bantry and long may that continue. The Ladies Club are proposing that the club fully adopts the One Club model going forward and a motion has been sent into the Main Club for consideration at their Agm. This will also be proposed at the Ladies Club Agm on November 27th. I would like to convey a special word of thanks to our sponsors. To Geraldine, Martin and Jesse Hegarty from Hegarty's Mace who sponsor our Gaelic4Mothers&Others team. To Albe Andrews at Bantry Bath and Tile who's ongoing commitment and support for our Juvenile Ladies teams has been unbelievable and is so much appreciated. Thanks to John and Margie McSweeny at John McSweeny Plant Hire and Tree Cutting Services who are our Adult team sponsors. Finally I would like to thank my fellow committee members for all their efforts throughout 2025. Vice Chair Johnny o Shea,Secretary Anne o Grady,Treasurer Mary o Sullivan, PRO Caitlin o Mahony,Children's officer Claire Russell and Injuries officer Debbie Delaney. A lot of work was put in by everyone this year so a huge thanks to you all. We are always looking for people to get involved in the Ladies Club,be it as a coach/mentor,at committee level or to assist in our fundraising activities. If anyone would like to get involved you would be more than welcome so please don't hesitate to contact me. Mike Russell Chairman Bantry Blues Ladies Football Club.

 | Gorma BeanntraÍ Tuarascáil an Oifigigh Chumarsáide 2025 AGM November 21st 2025 was the current PRO’s first year in the role. I have tried to promote all club activities across social media platforms, ClubZap and in The Star. 2025 was a busy year which reflects the vitality, energy and strength of the club. Sincere thanks to everyone who kept me on track by sending me information on a wide range of events and Club activities. It is only through good communication that the PRO can be informed and work as effectively as possible. Thanks to all the team mentors at underage and adult levels for details of fixtures, team photos and match reports. It was very much a team effort and much appreciated. Thanks very much to Eddie Wiseman for all of his advice and support as I got used to the role and work of the PRO. I am sure I annoyed him often but he was always available to help, advise and to step in when needed on top of his already busy role as club secretary. On-pitch activities: Almost all fixtures and match reorts across both codes at underage and adult levels and including the Ladies Club were promoted on social media, ClubZap and in The Star where possible. The most recent and available pictures of the teams were used to create posters, in most cases, and/or the fixture from the GAA website. Unfortunately, not all team photographs that were sent to The Star were published. I was told that the quality of the photographs taken on phones was not good enough for print. Only some photographs that were taken using a camera made the cut! Thanks to all who took out their cameras and sent me the photographs. Live match updates were provided on X for as many games as I could attend, again at both adult and underage levels in GAA and LGFA. Thanks to the spectators who kept me informed on some of the matches that I was unable to attend. Your updates ensured that the scores on X could be recorded. Fixtures and scores were also updated on ClubZap when sent to me. Some mentors updated their own fixtures and scores. On all promotions of fixtures and reports put on social media platforms, ClubZap and in The Star team sponsors were included and recognised. Thanks to: O’Keeffe’s Supervalu; The Maritime Hotel; Danny Collins ‘The Boston Bar; Bantry Credit Union; Bantry Bath and Tile; John McSweeney Plant Hire and Tree Cutting Services. Club Lotto and Fundraising Each week on the run up to the lotto draw, reminders through texts, pictures and countdowns, taken from the club website, were sent out on social media, Club Zap, X and on WhatsApp groups. Thanks to the Lotto organising committee for sending both pictures of the posters used in town and the fortnightly results which were communicated again through all the various platforms. The Rebel Bounty was also advertised using the County flyers and club designed flyers and posters through social media, texts, Club Zap etc. Activities and events: PRO activities started in January with our U21 team and their coaches presenting a cheque for €1030 to members of West Cork Rapid Response, raised from a table quiz they organised in conjunction with their Carbery U21A medal presentation. This was a great fundraising achievement by this young team echoing their appreciation for a very worthy cause. This team’s season began on Sunday February 9th. Carbery Centenary Celebrations: Much effort went into gathering photographs, memorabilia and history to develop a stand to showcase the club’s history and achievements at The Park Hotel. Thanks to all who helped in any way and especially to members who manned the stand and the young players and mentors who attended on the day wearing their club colours and bringing their silverware. Other activities advertised and promoted included: · Ireland Lights Up and Munster GAA - Every Step Counts 2025 which resumed on Thursday January 23rd · Scór na bPáistaí, Scór Sinsear, Carbery Centenary Scór Celebration Concert, · The Rising Tide Festival · Golf Classic Fundraiser · Darkness into Light · Denis Hurley Memorial Cup · Club Merchandise · Ball 4 All, Skills4Kids, Little Puckers · Stand for Féile · Easter and Summer Peil Camps · Official Opening of the Sideline Garden in June · Century of Commitment by Ruairi Deane for @OfficialCorkGAA · Community Clean Up Day · GAA Healthy Clubs-Fuel for the Field · Last Man Standing · Bantry Ladies Lidl Plus Rewards Scheme Sincere thanks to all who helped in the promotion of the Club in 2025. Any ideas to improve communications is welcome as we look forward to the 2026 season. #bluesabú Míle buíochas, Shirley Uí Mhurchú Oifigeach Cumarsáide Chumann Ghorma Beanntraí

 |  INJURIES OFFICER REPORT Injuries Officer Report as of 17/11/2025 The playing of Gaelic Football & Hurling involves the risk of Injury, and it is each individual registered player’s responsibility to familiarise themselves with the terms and benefits of the GAA Injury Benefit Fund. The Injury Benefit Fund only provides cover for unrecoverable losses up to the limits specified. Each player needs to ensure that they have adequate cover in place to meet their own individual needs and personal circumstances. The GAA Injury Benefit Fund is only in place to cover benefits which cannot be claimed elsewhere and is a benefit cover only. Therefore, if a claimant is seeking to claim benefit from the fund, they must exhaust all other avenues before making a claim under the GAA Injury Benefit Fund. Furthermore, the Injury Benefit Fund should not be used as a guarantee for the payment of expenses. Ultimately, the responsibility to ensure that adequate cover is in place lies with the individual member. The process for notifying injuries changed in 2025 due to GDPR and other reasons: The first step in any injury is to notify a member of the team management when the injury occurs, STEP 1 is to complete FORM 1 in the injury book, this is signed by the player and a member of the team management. STEP 2: Player scans QR code on Form 1 “Injuries record log” – This digital form needs to be filled out by the player (or parent/guardian if player is U18). The details required on this are similar to the details required on the previous injuries book “pink slip”. When the player completes the digital form “ injuries record log” and submits an email is activated and sent directly to an official club email. The steps above are sufficient if physio is the only treatment required by the player and in that instance the club will cover 3 sessions of physio for the injured player to a max of €40 per session. The injured player will organise their own physio, pay the bill and submit their invoice to the club. If any injury occurs that requires anything else besides physio the above 2 steps need to be done and the injury needs to be notified on foireann within 60 days of the injury occurring. IT IS THE PLAYER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO REGISTER THE INJURY ON FOIREANN WITHIN THE 60 DAYS OTHERWISE THEY WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE INSURANCE. The injury officer will assist any player in logging their injury on foireann, but it has to be submitted by the player themselves. Once submitted, it is still the clubs responsibility to validate the claim before Allianz can administer it. All receipts being presented to the insurance company are forwarded directly by the player as they are responsible for managing the claim themselves. All physio receipts submitted by players are paid and up to date. Any outstanding open cases with Alllianz are being dealt with directly between Allianz and the player submitting the claim. Finally, I would sincerely like to thank the Secretary, treasurer all members of the committee, team managers and coaches for their assistance in dealing with injury claims during the year.

Minutes of Bantry Blues AGM, 4th December, 2024

Adoption of previous minutes: Proposed Arthur Coakley   Seconded: Eddie Wiseman.

Chairperson’s Report: The Chairperson, Arthur Coakley , said that it was a good year for the Blues, mentioning the successes particularly of the U21 Footballers & Hurlers.
