Our Junior 1 ladies got back to winning ways with a good win over Valley Rovers at home in the park this afternoon.
After a defeat to Carrigaline in their last outing the girls in blue were looking to bounce back and secure three valuable points from this home fixture.
Bantry started strongly with a well taken point in the first minute and were four points to the good before Valley Rovers opened their account with a pointed free in the sixteenth minute.
Bantry were defending solidly and were moving the ball well and tacked on four more points before half time with the crossbar having denied them some good goal opportunities on three occasions but they still went in leading comfortably at the break on a scoreline of 0.8 to 0.1
Bantry again started the second half well with a point in the first minute and three quickfire goals in the eleventh, twelfth and fifteenth minutes put them well in control.
Valley Rovers goaled in the twentieth minute but Bantry were able to introduce fresh legs off the bench to finish the game strongly and take the win on a scoreline of 3.10 to 1.3
Next up for this group is an away game against Douglas in two weeks time.
