Our Adult Ladies made the long journey to Middleton for  round 4 of this year's Junior A County championship campaign.
With both teams knowing each other well this proved to be a low scoring game with Middleton emerging victorious after the sixty minutes.
Middleton opened the scoring with a pointed free on six minutes. It was to be the fourteenth minute before they registered their next score as both teams were well met and with Middleton throwing players behind the ball it would be the twenty ninth minute before Bantry registered their first score with a pointed free.
Bantry scored two injury time points to leave them trailing at half time on a scoreline of 0.4 to 0.3.
The first fifteen minutes of the second half proved to be just as tight before Middleton goaled.Bantry replied immediately with a point but the momentum was now with Middleton as Bantry struggled to break down their blanket defence. Some wayward passing did not help Bantry's cause and indeed but for some superb saves from their goalkeeper Seadna o Sullivan they could have found themselves further in arrears.
Bantry were to register only two more points to Middleton's three to see the home side win on a scoreline of 1.8 to 0.5.
Next up for Bantry is a must win home game v Araglen Desmonds Buí next Sunday to guarantee a semi final place in this year's competition.
