Our Junior Ladies faced off against Dohenys in the park today in  round 3 of their Junior A County championship campaign.
This turned out to be a cracking game of football with both teams giving it their all on the day.
Dohenys opened the scoring with a point in the first minute before Bantry opened their account with a well taken point on six minutes.
This was to be the pattern of the first half with both teams well matched although some fine saves from the Bantry goalkeeper denied Dohenys on three occasions.
The girls in blue went in at half time leading by the minimum on a scoreline of 0.7 to 0.6.
The second half proved to be just as tight with Bantry opening the scoring with a fine point on eight minutes.
Dohenys replied immediately with points in the ninth and tenth minutes but a cracking goal from Bantry in the eleventh minute gave the girls in blue the upper hand.
Both teams traded points before Dohenys hit three unanswered points to put them right back into this game.
A point in the twenty ninth minute put Bantry ahead by one but again Dohenys pressed forward and leveled affairs in the thirtieth minute.
It was anyone's game now and deep into injury time Dohenys scored the all important point to take the spoils in what was a fantastic game of football from both sides.
Next up for Bantry is an away game to Middleton in two weeks time.
