Our u14 ladies continued their impressive form in this years West Cork campaign with a comprehensive win over a spirited Muintir Mhaire side in the park Saturday morning last.
On a beautiful day for football Bantry were off the mark quickly with an Emma Harrington point inside two minutes.A goal in the third minute from Donna French followed up by a Sara Murphy goal in the eight minute put Bantry firmly in control and further scores from Emma Harrington,Donna French,Kacey Cotter,Caitlin o Neill,Hailey Hegarty,Emily o Neill and Callie o Donoghue saw Bantry go in at half time well on top.
Bantry continued to dominate for the second half. The Blue's defence was limiting Muintir Mhaire to limited scoring chances with Aoife o Donovan,Ann Keohane,Noelle Hurley,Katie Crowley and Aoibhinn o Connell all putting in a great shift.
The girls in blue kept the scoreboard ticking over nicely with some great scores including an Áine Courcey goal and a point from Saoirse Cooke who was now playing outfield having being capably replaced in goal by Anna Russell at half time.
By the full time whistle Bantry ran out comfortable winners to make it two wins from their first two fixtures.
Next up for these girls is a home game against Dohenys of which the time and date is yet to be confirmed.
