Our Adult Ladies kept up their good form in their Division 3 County Senior Football League campaign with a hard fought win over Bishopstown in Wolfe Tone park Sunday afternoon.
Bantry started the game at lightning pace and were 2.8 to the good before Bishopstown registered their first score with a point in the eight minute.
The girls in blue were playing some superb football, moving the ball at speed and their forward play was a joy to watch.Bantry's defence was playing a blinder also and curtailed Bishopstown to just four points to leave them leading at half time on a scoreline of 3.11 to 0.4.
To say this was a game of two halves would be an understatement as Bishopstown thundered into the game as play resumed scoring 1.3 inside the first ten minutes.
Bantry were now under serious pressure but two points on twelve and thirteen minutes kept them at arms length.
Another three points for Bishopstown followed up by a goal in the twenty sixth minute really put this game in the melting pot but Bantry dug deep with each and every player putting in a massive effort and fresh legs off the bench proved vital as the girls in blue ground out the result they deserved on the day.
Next up for these ladies is an away game to Nemo Rangers.
Date for this game is yet to be confirmed.
