This was a must win game for the girls in blue to ensure at least a play of place in this years competition and it was mission accomplished as they came away with a comprehensive win.
In what was a beautiful evening for football Kilmacabea started strongly with a goal in the third minute but Bantry replied immediately with a well taken point from Sophie o Donnell.
Bantry were working quick ball into the forwards and a fine point from Kate Creedon was quickly followed up with two great goals from Callie o Donoghue in the seventh and ninth minutes.Another goal from Kate Creedon on twelve minutes put Bantry well on top but Kilmacabea forced their way back into this game with goals in the eighteenth and twenty fourth minutes.Again Bantry's reply was to up their game and with Caragh McCarthy and Kacey Cotter working tirelessly at midfield they worked two great goals from the boot of Sophie o Donnell and Callie o Donoghue.
Kilmacabea scored another goal in the twenty eighth minute but Bantry closed out the first half scoring courtesy of a Sophie o Donnell free to leave them leading at the break on a scoreline of 5.6 to 4.1
Bantry continued to impress in the second half with five points in the opening ten minutes.
Emma Harrington was now operating to great effect at midfield and the Bantry defence was limiting their opposition to few scoring chances with Áine Courcey,Olivia Minehane and Saoirse Cooke putting in some great tackles.The Bantry forwards continued to thrive and a great goal from Sophie o Donnell in the fifteenth minute put the girls in blue well in control.Further points from Kate Creedon,Callie o Donoghue,Kacey Cotter and Sophie o Donnell saw Bantry finish out the game strongly to register a fine win on a scoreline of 6.17 to 4.4.
