Rosscarbery had a great start with a goal inside the first two minutes before Sophie o Donnell registered Bantry's first scores of the game with two well taken frees.Both teams were well matched but Bantry took the lead on twelve minutes courtesy of a well taken Emma Harrington point and when Emily o Neill scored a cracking goal on fifteen minutes the girls in blue were beginning to gain the upper hand.Rosscarbery replied with two points but another fine goal from Callie o Donoghue saw Bantry leading at half time on a scoreline of 2.5 to 0.4.
Rosscarbery again started the second half strongly with an early goal but again Bantry pushed forward and a fifth minute goal from the lively Emily o Neill and a well taken penalty from Sophie o Donnell saw the them regain control.
Another goal on fourteen minutes saw Bantry forge further ahead but Rosscarbery were not willing to throw in the towel just yet.Two goals and two points in a four minute period brought them well back into this game and the Bantry defence was now under some serious pressure.Bantry goalkeeper Layla Rose Kingston Fitzgerald pulled off some fine saves to keep Bantry ahead and Polina Popenko,Alex Manning and Caragh McCarthy were all putting in a terrific defensive display.
Bantry now had to dig deep and with Kacey Cotter, Anna Russell and Emily o Neill winning some great ball the tide started to turn in Bantry's favour.
Fantastic goals from Sophie o Donnell,Caragh McCarthy and Kacey Cotter saw the girls in blue finish strongly and they ran out winners on a scoreline of 8.6 to 3.7 in what was a brilliant game of football.
