Our u14 ladies got this year's league campaign off to a flying start with a comprehensive win over Courcey Rovers in the park today.

On a perfect day for football Bantry started well and were on the scoreboard within two minutes courtesy of a well taken Donna French goal.Bantry were moving the ball well and their efforts paid off when Sara Murphy finished superbly to net in the tenth minute.
Courcey Rovers registered their first score with a point in the eleventh minute but Bantry responded immediately with a fine point from Maddison Hodnett.
Bantry' pairing of Sara Murphy and Hailey Hegarty were now gaining the upper hand in the middle of the field and the half forward line of Anna Russell,Kacey Cotter and Caitlin o Neill were also well on top,winning some great ball and laying off some super passes to the inside forward line.A nice point from Donna French was followed up by a great goal from Caitlin o Neill and when Kacey Cotter goaled superbly following a great team move in the fifteenth minute the girls in blue were well on top.Further points from Donna French and Kacey Cotter saw Bantry close out the first half well ahead.
Bantry again had a quick start to the second half when Sophie o Donnell pointed beautifully inside the first minute.Courcey Rovers were given a lifeline when they goaled in the second minute but this would prove to be only one of two scores for them in the second half as the Bantry defence was in great form with Aoife o Donovan,Ann Keohane,Aoibhinn o Connell and Caragh McCarthy all making serious contributions in front of goalkeeper Layla Rose Kingston Fitzgerald.
Bantry were now playing some lovely team football and moving the ball beautifully with points from Sara Murphy,Kacey Cotter,Sophie o Donnell and Hailey Hegarty and when Kacey Cotter buried her second goal of the day this game was well and truly in the bag.Courcey Rovers registered their final score with a point on seventeen minutes but the Bantry forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over with some lovely points and ran out convincing winners.
