Our u13 ladies continued their league campaign with a good win over Clonakilty in the park yesterday afternoon.

In blustery conditions Bantry were playing against a stiff breeze in the first half and Clonakilty were on the scoreboard after just two minutes with a well taken goal.

Bantry replied with a well worked goal from Callie o Donoghue on four minutes and when Emily o Neill finished to the net in the ninth minute the girls in blue were well in this game. Clonakilty pointed in the fourteenth minute before Sophie o Donnell rattled the back of the net for Bantry's third goal on sixteen minutes. Clonakilty however were using the wind to their advantage and sending long ball into the forwards and they scored their second goal on seventeen minutes which they followed up with two points to put them well in contention.Bantry's defenders were working hard with Anna o Connor,Alex Manning and Caragh McCarthy to the fore and they worked the ball through the lines where Kacey Cotter and Emma Harrington at midfield were linking up well with the half forward line of Anna Russell,Emily o Neill and Kate Creedon who were winning good ball.Their efforts paid off when Callie o Donoghue superbly bagged her second goal on twenty three minutes and another fine goal from Kacey Cotter on twenty five minutes left the girls in blue leading on a scoreline of 5.0 to 2.4 at half time.

Bantry now playing with the wind at their backs started the second half at lightning speed with a fine goal from Kacey Cotter inside the first minute.Clonakilty replied immediately with a goal a minute later but this would be their last score for twenty seven minutes as Bantry started to turn the screw.A fine point from Emma Harrington on five minutes followed by a pointed free from Sophie o Donnell put them well in control.Bantry were awarded a penalty in the eleventh minute after Emily o Neill was hauled down in the square which Sophie o Donnell expertly converted to put the girls in blue well on top.Further points from Emma Harrington,Callie o Donoghue and Emily o Neill saw Bantry run out winners on a scoreline of 7.6 to 3.5
