A decision had been taken to temporarily close our two pitches due to recent heavy RAINS & heavy RAINS forecasted in the coming days
CLUB NOTICE: Both grass pitches have been CLOSED this week due to the large amounts of rain that have fallen & forecasted for the week ahead #RainStopsPlay
Due to wet weather over the past month and anticipated heavy rains in the days ahead, the decision has been made to temporarily close the pitches to ensure the lasting excellence of the playing surface.
Question being asked - Why is it necessary to restrict use of the pitches if they are “ALL WEATHER” ?
Damage Explanation
Continued use during wet conditions risks:
- Compacted soil, hindering grass root growth.
- Increased susceptibility to turf diseases.
- Uneven playing surface development, affecting game quality.
