Bantry Blues u15s progressed to the Rebel Óg County Final yesterday after a comprehensive win over St Catherine’s on the 4G pitch in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Bantry started well and had 4 goals in the first ten minutes courtesy of Oisin Murphy. Oisin finished some brilliant moves as Fionn Goggin, Dan Joe O Neill, Ryan O Boy, Colm French and Ruari O Brien caused St Catherine’s problems. Darragh Dullea kicked a fantastic long range point. Oran O Connell, Shay O Donovan, James Murphy and Conor Young all made telling contributions in the first half.

The team were disappointed to concede two first half goals but they still led at the break by 4-9 to 2-1.

Dan Joe started the second half superbly with a goal. Colin McCarthy followed it up with another a couple of minutes later. The introduction of subs brought a new energy to the team as Ronan Kennan and Joey Sheehan kicked two fine scores.

The management would like to recognise the contribution of our wing forward Fionn Goggin who can be very proud of his performance in very difficult circumstances. We would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to the Goggin family at this time.
