The under 13 hurlers travelled to Ardfield on Sunday afternoon to take on St James GAA in a league play off semi final. The young blues never got going in the first half and trailed by 1-4 to 1-1 at half time with the Bantry goal coining from Corey O’Sullivan. With some tough talking from their coaches the team improved their work rate in the second half and again Corey O’Sullivan scored another goal to bring them right back into the game. Despite this St James were still the dominant side for long stretches and would have had the game wrapped up but for some heroic defending epitomised by Owen Meyler and Dylan Barry and a penalty saved by goalkeeper Conor Hourihane. Despite being outplayed for long periods the team showed great resilience to win the game at the death with a late goal from Conor Sheedy and a point from Corey O’Sullivan to win out on a scoreline of 3-3 to 1-7.

Team Conor Hourihane, Alex Cronin, Owen Meyler, Shane Cronin, Eoin McCarthy, Dylan Barry, Killian O’Sullivan, Calvin O’Brien, Joey Sheehan, Corey O’Sullivan, Mattie Collins, Conor Sheedy, Conor OMahony and Matt Murphy
