Bantry Blues Junior B Footballers season came to an end Sunday afternoon in a sunny , but windy Drimoleague where they were defeated by this years confined Junior B Football Co Champions St Oliver Plunketts.

This was a game of two halves , with the team playing with the wind having scoring advantage. 

The blues Played into the wind in the first half and found scoring difficult

The blues first point on seven minutes when Luke Salter Townsend split the posts to leave the blues trailing by six points (1-03) to one as Plunketts availed of the strong wind for some early scores.The blues were hit with a double blow in the following few minutes when Killian OSullivan received a black card on 10 minutes & midfielder Shane Crowley received an injury and had to leave the pitch. In this period Plunketts scored 1-03 without reply, putting serious pressure on the blues, however they were not going to give in and with Luke Salter Townsend and Daniel Murray raising white flags before the break leaving a half time scoreline  of 0-04 V 2-07 


With the wind at their backs the blues came out in the second half looking to put scores up. Within a minute of the restart, Matthew Barry split the posts and a couple of minutes later following prolonged pressure Daniel Murray was pulled forcibly to the ground and awarded a penalty. Unfortunately the Plunketts goalie guessed correctly and palmed the shot out for a 45.This miss drove the blues on as they dominated the next fifteen minutes of the game with Daniel Murray scoring two points and the returning Shane Crowley also adding  a brace while the strong blues defence kept the opposition scoreless for 24 minutes of the second half. In the closing minutes, the blues continued to attack  with Shane Crowley adding another two points to cancel out the end of game scores by Plunketts.
