Well done to our U15 Footballers on their excellent performance this evening in Aughaville where the defeated Sam Maguires in the Rebel Óg West U15 Div 2 Football Championship Final on a scoreline of 3-10 to 4-04

Bantry u15s won the Rebel Og West Cork Championship yesterday evening in a thrilling match in Aughaville.

The Blues started well with Dan Joe O Neill finishing the first half with 2-1 and Patrick Harrington and Conor Young marshalling a resolute defensive display. Colm French, Ryan O Boy and Ruari o Brien worked incredibly hard, while Fionn Goggin was a thorn in the side of the Dunmanway half back line. Two unfortunate goals led to the blues only leading by a point at half time. 2-3 to 2-2.

Bantry started the second half determined to make more of an impact on the score board. Colin McCarthy and Oran O Connell turned in brilliant midfield performances. Oisin Murphy kicked 3 points early in the second half, while half back Shay O Donovan got on the end of a brilliant pass from Dan Joe O Neill and finished it to put Bantry Blues 6 points to the good. Points from Ryan O Boy, Ronan Kennan and Colin McCarthy left Bantry 9 points up with 15 minutes to go.

Dunmanway, to their credit, never gave up. On their next visit to the Bantry half, they scored a goal and followed it up with another one a couple of minutes later. With minutes remaining Bantry were stunned with the concession of a penalty. Once again, like every other game this year, Luke O Sullivan got down brilliantly to save it. Over the last few minutes James Murphy, Dara O Sullivan and Darragh Dullea were the standouts as Bantry clung on to win.
