Our Minor ladies played their final league group game against a very strong Kinsale team in the park last Wednesday evening in what turned out to be a comprehensive win for the visiting team.
Kinsale started the game at a blistering pace and had 3 points on the scoreboard before Cliodhna o Shea registered Bantry's first score with a well taken point after three minutes.
Kinsale started to dominate affairs and their quick and accurate passing was paying dividends and when they goaled in the fifth minute it opened the flood gates and despite points from Aoife Kingston and Daisy o Donoghue Kinsale went in at half time with a huge advantage of 3.11 to 0.6.
Unfortunately for Bantry the second half continued in a similar fashion with Kinsale well in control. The girls in Blue kept battling away however with Katie Russell, Emma Kelly and Lainey Barry winning good ball.
Again poor passing was Bantry's downfall but some good movement from their forwards was rewarded with two great points from Holly Sheehan and Emma Kelly.
Great credit must go to the Bantry defence and midfield who were under constant pressure throughout this game but never gave up the fight with Mary o Shea, Kelly Daly,Cliodhna o Shea,Ciara Barry and Meadhbh Sammon putting in a great effort.
This was a superb Kinsale team who ran out comprehensive winners in the end on a scoreline of 5.20 to 0.9
