County Final Bound ! Congratulations to our u16 ladies who have qualified for the County Final after a great team performance away to Castlemagner. Bantry started brightly with Lauren Connell scoring 1-1 in the opening two minutes before Castlemagner raised a white flag of their own. Faye Hurley and Aoidhe Murphy hit the back of the net within thirty seconds of each other to put the Blues in a comfortable position. Further points from Faye, Belle, Lauren and Aoidhe as well as goals from Ciara Kelly and Aoidhe had our tally at 5-6 at half time. Castlemagner finished the half with three points on the trot. The backs marshalled the Bantry goals well to ensure no score was given up easily. On such a hot day it was necessary for players to be rotated constantly with all girls getting plenty of game time with each player proving their worth. Sara Murphy and Alannah MacCarthy Dowling got on the scoresheet in the second half as Ciara scored another two before Castlemagner slotted home a penalty which they followed with a point. Bantry kept up their work rate and scored several more points to ensure victory as Castlemagner scored the last 1-1 of the game.
