Here are the permutations for the Bon Secours Premier Intermediate Football Championship ahead of the final round of fixtures this Weekend.

Premier Intermediate Football Championship Group A:

Round 3 Fixtures:

Castletownbere v Bandon

Rockchapel v Nemo Rangers

Castletownbere

  • Need a draw to top the group.
  • If Castletownbere lose to Bandon and Rockchapel beat Nemo Rangers, 1st to 3rd would finish on 4 points. Points difference would decide the positions in this scenario.

Rockchapel

  • Win vs Nemo Rangers and they will qualify in second place regardless.
  • If Rockchapel win and Bandon beat Castletownbere, 1st to 3rd would finish on 4 points. Points difference would decide the positions in this scenario.
  • A draw will be good enough to qualify in second place if Castletownbere beat or draw with Bandon.
  • If Rockchapel lose and Castletownbere beat Bandon, 2nd to 4th would finish on 2 points. Points difference would decide the final positions in this scenario. Rockchapel currently have the better scoring difference.
  • If Rockchapel lose and Bandon draw, Rockchapel will finish bottom on head-to-head vs Nemo.

Bandon

  • Win vs Castletownbere and Nemo Rangers beat Rockchapel, Bandon will qualify and top the group on head-to-head.
  • If Bandon win and Rockchapel beat Nemo Rangers, 1st to 3rd will finish on 4 points each and points difference would decide the finishing order.
  • If Bandon draw and Nemo Rangers beat Rockchapel, Bandon will qualify.
  • If Bandon draw and Rockchapel draw, Bandon will be eliminated.
  • If Bandon lose they will be eliminated.

Nemo Rangers

  • If Nemo Rangers win and Castletownbere beat Bandon, 2nd to 4th would finish on 2 points. Points difference would decide the final positions in this scenario.
  • Will need to win and Bandon to at least draw to avoid finishing bottom.

Round 3 Fixtures:

Bantry Blues v Macroom

Uibh Laoire v Naomh Ában

Bantry Blues

  • Bantry Blues have qualified and topped the group.

Uibh Laoire

  • Uibh Laoire need a draw to finish second.
  • If Uibh Laoire lose they will finish third.

Naomh Abán

  • Must beat Uibh Laoire to finish second.
  • A draw or loss and they will be eliminated.

Macroom

  • Will finish bottom of the group

Round 3 Fixtures:

Cill Na Martra v Na Piarsaigh

Kilshannig v Aghada

Cill Na Martra

  • Will qualify with a draw.
  • If Cill Na Martra lose to Na Piarsaigh and Kilshannig win vs Aghada, Cill Na Martra will qualify.
  • If Cill Na Martra lose to Na Piarsiagh and Kilshannig draw with Aghada, Cill Na Martra will qualify on head-to-head over Aghada.

Kilshannig

  • Will qualify with a draw
  • If Kilshannig lose to Aghada, they will need Na Piarsaigh to beat Cill Na Martra to qualify on scoring difference due to drawing with Cill Na Martra in Round 2.

Aghada

  • Must beat Kilshannig to qualify.
  • Won’t finish bottom of the group

Na Piarsaigh

  • Will finish bottom of the group

CHAMPIONSHIP REGULATIONS ON ROUND ROBIN PLACINGS


the current County Championship Regulations as per pages 2 & 3 of the Competitions Document ; CLICK TO VIEW
While General Rule changed at Congress 2023, Rule 6.21 (5)(c) clearly states that County Championship Regulation takes precedent. 
Please note the relevant County Championship regulation as follows. 
Placings as per Rule 6.21, part 5. (a) League results shall be credited as follows: 2 points for a win, and one for a draw. 

(b) If a Team is Disqualified or Retires during the course of the League Stage, its played Games shall stand and its unplayed Games shall be awarded to the Opposing Teams. 
(c) Except where provided for otherwise in these Rules, in County Bye-Law or in Competition Regulation, when Teams finish with equal points for Qualification for the Concluding Stages, or for Promotion or Relegation, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified: 

(i) Where two Teams only are involved - the outcome of the meeting of the two Teams in the previous game in the Competition; (ii) Scoring Difference (subtracting the total Scores Against from total Scores For); (iii) Highest Total Score For; (iv) A Play-Off. 

Exceptions to (c): Except where provided for otherwise in County Bye-Law or Competition Regulation, Regulations (i), (ii) and (iii) above shall not apply to Under 17 or younger age grade competitions.
(d) In the event that two teams or more finish with equal points, but have been affected by a disqualification, loss of game on a proven objection, retirement or walk over, the tie shall be decided by the following means: 

(i) Score Difference from the games in which only the teams involved, (teams tied on points), have played each other. (subtracting the total Scores Against from total Scores For) (ii) Highest Total Score For, in which only the teams involved, have played each other, and have finished equal in (i) (iii) A Play-Off

Ultimately, if all games are played and if scoring difference is required to separate teams that are tied, it will incorporate all games played in the group.
