Bantry Blues 2-7 St Michael 1-7 2014-07-28 21:24:00

A last minute Shane Drunney goal ended St Michaels interest in the Cork PIFC in Kilmichael yesterday. The Blues overcame the loss of injured trio Ruairi Deane, Sean O'Leary and Niall Canty to book their place in the quarter finals against either Ballinora or Naomh Aban.
A tough encounter looked to be heading for a replay until Drummey broke through in the final minute to scramble home his rebounded shot to the net.
Bantry enjoyed a dream start with David Power reacting quickest in the first minute to bury Stephen Coughlan's rebound to the net from a tight angle.
With Graham Canty and Kevin Harrington dominant in their respective position Bantry went in at the break ahead by 1-4 to 0-5 courtesy of points from Declan Barron, Shane Drummey and Stephen Coughlan.
Shortly after the restart Shane Drummey and David Power raised white flags before the city men enjoyed their best spell with a brilliant goal giving them the lead for the first time.
Shortly after the goal Bantry lost David Daly to a red card for 2 bookings in an otherwise very sporting game. However, the blues showed great resilience and a free from Declan Barron levelled matters and then came Drummeys late goal to win the day
